Hello to an overdue update on what is happening here, First of all we have news from the D40 project, Due to the Pandemic Not a lot has happened though We have now have a metal caster who will do the frames from the locomotive and we should have the first 24 chassis done for the D40 shortly (Depending on how much fine tuning the mold needs).
We have also taken the decision to start selling our card kits again in staggered phases though the London Transport Items will not be available for the foreseeable future until we get the appropriate licences sorted. To finish off this post you may have noticed we have added quite a few body kits to are range, We would like to clarify that this does not mean that the D40 hasn't been worked on, unless regular reports of emails being sent between different company's is interesting, just that no big developments have happened with the project with most news being about Email conversations with metal casting company's going nowhere. Thomas Connor - CDC Design Webmaster While largely similar to the more famous 3F 'Standard Goods' or 'Jinty' the earlier 2441 class has some striking differences in design. Most obvious, on this version, being the fitting of condensing apparatus which allowed these locos to work over the Metropolitan Widened Lines on goods services bound for the Southern region. Other differences include the tanks, bunker and smokebox with subtle differences to the cab as well.
This is a 3d printed body specifically designed to fit the Hornby 060 'Jinty' chassis just like the GWR 97xx so the same video tutorial applys CDC Designs (Charlie - Designer and Tom - Webmaster) We are proud to release a new Body Kit for the Hornby 'Jinty; 060 chassis, The GWR 97xx Condensing Pannier tank. The update on the SECR G and GNoSR V/F Class models: We are currently finalising the CAD for the different variations for the models before moving to the production stage. At this stage we cannot give an estimated release date.

Tom (CDC Design Webmaster) We have now released the LNER J69 in both original GER Condition and in later LNER condition. These are being sold as pre-detailed and pre-painted body kits. The kits fit onto the old Hornby ;Terrier' chassis. A numbering service is available for an additional £10 per loco. Tom (CDC Design Webmaster) We now have the first test prints of the LNER J69 class 0-6-0t, GNoSR V class 4-4-0 and NLR 75 class 0-6-0t.LNER J69 Test Print GNoSR V Class Test-Print We have also produced additional test prints of the NLR 75 class with both LNWR chimney (Right) and original NLR chimney (Left).
Tom (CDC Design Webmaster) Its... not monty python but it is a side project of ours, an NLR 75 Class 0-6-0t. We have now produced test prints. We are using UV-cured resin to create our loco bodies and the results so far are promising. We should have an update on the GNoSR V/F soon. CDC Design (Tom and Charlie) NLR 75 Class 0-6-0t Hello and a belated Happy New year. Over the Christmas period we have been working on the CAD for the SECR G and GNoSR V/F Class 4-4-0s. This includes the tender and in a few weeks we hope to be able to show the first test prints.
We have also added a contact form on the website. Please note that this for enquiries only - we will not be taking any pre orders until we are ready to begin production. Tom (CDC Design Webmaster) Welcome to the new CDC designs Website. We hope that it represents an improvement on the previous site and we shall be developing it over the coming weeks. We are pleased to announce a new range of limited-run Ready-to-Run locomotives made under the new 'Thanet Loco Works' brand. We will be producing a diverse range of British and Irish prototypes in both Ready-to-Run and easy-to-build kit format. We are also looking to develop a range based on French prototypes under the 'Ceinture Models' brand.
We hope you are very excited about these new developments and look forward to bringing a range of interesting products to the market over the next few years. Tom (CDC Design Webmaster) |
